A Sunday morning sermon by Pastor Steve Hartman. I am greatly encouraged and filled with hope at what God is doing in Eternity Church. For many our sense of security has been upset by all the turmoil in our city and around the world. It is easy to take sides and blame one another. If we as Eternity Church want to be on God's side and not just take on one issue or another, we need to come together in a new way. As a staff we decided that we can come together in prayer, and this has to be a daily discipline, every morning and evening. Beginning July 6th there will be morning prayer from 6:00 - 6:30 a.m. and evening prayer from 9:00 - 9:30 p.m. You can join in by using zoom and the link will be sent to you by a separate email providing the link, the id for the meeting and the passcode. We encourage you to join in as many sessions of prayer as possible. Even if you can join in for only a part of the time, come and join. This is a call for the whole church, not just a few people. If as a nation we truly believe "In God we trust," let us begin at Eternity Church to reaffirm this trust in him. Regular communal prayer demands setting a priority for prayer in your life and in the life of the church. It is my dream to see this effort gathering momentum and that we can gather together in God's presence and learn what it is to be healed and to love one another. This has to be from the ground level up, not the other way around. Here is the promise: "if my people who are called by my name humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place" (2 Chronicles 7:14-15, ESV). Come let us seek his face!
