Derek Rucker is a former professional basketball player in the NBL, National Basketball League, here in Australia. Over his 15 season career, Derek had two stints with the Brisbane Bullets as well as runs with the Newcastle Falcons, Townsville Suns and the West Sydney Razorbacks.
NBL accolades include MVP (1990), Scoring Champion (1990), All-NBL First Team (1990, 1997, 1998) and single game assist record (24) amongst others.
Derek is regarded as one of the NBLs all-time greats and one of the best international players to come to Australia to ball.
