Chances are you have a timeline that you’re working towards and a goal for achieving success in wedding photography.
Perhaps it’s when you start booking X amount of weddings a year or have the financial security that you can quit your conventional job.
But the truth is, that window of success isn’t open as long as you might think it is and if you haven’t gotten to where you want to be in three years, it’s probably already closed.
This might sound like tough love but it’s based on my experience of chatting and coaching dozens of wedding photographers over the years.
If you’re doing the same things over and over again, without making any inroads or gaining traction in your business, then you need to re-evaluate things.
Perhaps you’ve had the mindset that you’ve got years to get to where you want to be and are just doing the bare minimum when it comes to working on your business.
If this is the case, then you’re going to get left behind. Remember, not only are you competing against your own timeline but hundreds of other wedding photographers in your market who are willing to do the work.
So, if you’re running on a treadmill and feel like everyone is passing you by, it’s time to take a good, hard look in the mirror and face reality.
