Filmmaker Penny Lane discusses her latest documentary “Nuts”, which tells the story of J.R. Brinkley, a country doctor practicing in Milford, Kansas, who in 1917, began to treat his male patients for impotence by surgically implanting them with goat glands. The treatment was so successful that Brinkley started to raise his own goats to meet an increasing demand. He became tremendously successful, and eventually ran for governor and helped create modern radio.

Event: Penny Lane will be doing Q&As in person at Film Forum (209 W. Houston Street) on Wednesday, June 22 & Friday, June 24 after the 8:00 p.m. shows, and on Saturday, June 25 after the 6:10 p.m. show.
