Trigger warning: Stories of abuse, use of adult language, harmful statements regarding the Transgender community.

On today's episode, we address the recent statements made by JK Rowling on Twitter which are harmful to the Transgender and Non-Binary Communities. During a global pandemic, and in the midst of the Black Lives Matter movement and the battle for social justice, JK Rowling got back on Twitter last week to reinforce her stance of "gender critical feminism", also called "Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminism (TERF)." We dissect her remarks and why we find them so problematic. We have also created a blog post reviewing the material gone over in today's episode including screen shots and links to further information and resources: https://www.holdmybutterbeer.com/post/episode-13-jkr-s-tone-deaf-echo-chamber

Note: This episode was recording before JK Rowling released a statement on her website regarding her views on sex and gender, and so that material is not discussed in today's episode.
