He made his NFL debut in 1998 with Washington and then signed with Philadelphia, where he would spend 11 seasons with the Eagles. He would finish out his career with the 49ers and Lions. Akers was a part of two Super Bowl teams in Philadelphia (2004) and San Francisco (2012). He was named to the Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Fame in 2017 and selected to the NFL's 2000's All-Decade Team. He holds eight different NFL records including most points scored in a season without a touchdown (166) in 2011.
