Here we go into Ch. 2, which delves into the work of psychologist Stanislav Grof whose career was focused on the study of "non-ordinary states of consciousness." In particular, he focused on a special category of such states which he termed "Holotropic experiences" - these involve mystical and spiritual encounters with archetypal elements of the collective unconscious.
